| About Oroklini |
The village of Voroklini is situated 8km East of Larnaca town. The official name of the village is Voroklini. This is pronounced ‘Vor-ok-lini’. However, most of the non-Greek speaking inhabitants and the tourist industry refer to it as Oroklini village.
The village has a peaceful reputation and picturesque setting, and has become one of the islands most popular residential locations. The main contributing factors are the accessibility to Larnaca town and the main international airport. A small cluster of hills provide a back-drop to the village where you can choose to take you take a short drive or (for the more energetic) a pleasant walk/hike to the top on one of the hills where you will find the small church of Profites Elias. From this destination you will be able to see spectacular views of Larnaca bay to the front, and fields and meadows to the rear with the surrounding villages of Pyla and Livadia on either side.
Voroklini has developed substantially in size over the past few years with the population of the village now almost trebling over the past 20 years. This is due to the fact that many over seas visitors have chosen to make Oroklini their permanent home.
